It's been 3 years in a row that I've had no partner for Valentine's day. Ever since my husband left me and my daughter without any notice, I feel that can't trust another man again. Please give me some helpful tips to survive another Valentine's day without a romantic love in my life.

Don't get me wrong, I do know how lucky I am to have my daughter and I'm looking forward to spending valentines day with her. But I just hate how the whole thing is so focused on the romantic side of love and the commercialism of this day.

Tsst! You should be glad he is gone girl. If he left that way he is not worth having. But it seems you got the best of the deal. You have the most valuable thing in the whole world right there in front of you. That sweet baby girl is all you need.
First make her some heart shaped pancakes for breakfast that morning. Have a bouquet sitting on her dresser when she gets home. Maybe make her some heart shaped cookies with red lace icing to take to school with her that day.(don't know the age here)...let her help. Get a bunch of red, pink and white balloons and tie them to her bedposts and door knob before she comes home from school. Buy her a pretty new pajama with hearts on it. Go rent a chick flick for just the two of you...something funny.
Take your mental focus off of yourself and put it all on her and you will feel so much more joyous. And she will be so happy that you are not sad again.

I've been on my own for 5 years. I don't really think of Valentines day. I know when it is, but it's never bothered me. Take your daughter somewhere nice and do some fun things together. You don't need a man in your life to have a good time

You have everything, you have your daughter. Don't buy into the whole romantic thing half of the people that have someone in their life will spend Valentine's Day miserable because it did not measure up to their romantic expectations. Don't miss doing something special with your daughter because one day you will be counting the years you wasted with her on that day.

It's the grass, man:
People who don't have a partner want one.
People with a partner wish they they had a different one.
and People who are married wish they were single again.

Pick the greenest grass and spend Valentine's Day there....

Love your daughter and let her have a nice valentine with some chocolates and an iPod and maybe get yourself one too.
