Maybe something like Motzart or Beethoven

Dear Eddie G,
there are literally thousands of songs out there for voice and piano. Mozart wrote some very beautiful stuff, but Beethoven wasn't at his best, writing for voice, so take care there. If your German language skills are up to it, try Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Johannes Brahms ( he's the guy who wrote the famous lullaby, after all, and it's a centennial year for him this year) All these songs come in high, medium, or low editions through Peters International or Breitkopf and Härtel publishing companies, and they are pretty standard in any music store.
If you'd rather do something French, try Gabriel Faure. Claude Debussy wrote amazing stuff, but unless your accompanist is up to it, it's a hard slog.
Do you want to go farther afield? Try Modest Mussorgsky for Russian, Antonin Dvorak for Czech, or Benjamin Britten for (British) English.
Have fun! there's so much music out there to love.
Best wishes

Learn Beethoven's Sonata Pathetique. The adagio cantabile section especially lovely. Maybe try some Lizst or Chopin too. Also Debussy. They all wrote wonderful piano music. I'm a fan of Liebstraum by Lizst.

So i'm guessing you merely like the moody products. you ought to do the Apassionata Sonata with assistance from Beethoven. Chopin Etudes are showy. Rachmaninoff's second Musical op 16 no 4 is fairly good. or his etude-tableaux no 14 op 39 no 6 in A minor. Liszt is nice too yet often times lengthy. Or Rachmaninoff's sixth prelude Op 23 no 5 in G minor. that is fairly nicely common.
