I think the warranties are a waste of money.I dont like buying something new and right off the bat they try to sell me something else.

Hi James, I bought my laptop at office depot. I got one of their extended warranty for 2 years. I am glad i did. I had my laptop for only 1 month, and i started having problems with it. So i took it back to office depot, and the first thing they ask me,did you purchase our insurance on your laptop. I said, yes i did. So i was able to get another new laptop. One thing did bother me,was they will not help you,if you have a problem with a new laptop, unless you did get their extended warranty. A Friend

US$350 for a 3 year extended warranty on laptop can bring you peace of mind.
There is a whole article about this issue.

A laptop warranty is one of the few which are actually worth it. 3yrs is good, 2 is enough. Lots of possiblities of damage, wear and heat damage make laptops easily thrashed.

That depends on how computer literate you are! Considering 90 percent of the people who run PCs dont have a clue about what they are doing and are usually the reason the PC quits working, ask yourself which percentile you are!
