Kobe Bryant all the way!!!
he has changed so much since last year. his shot attempts are down, his shooting percentage, rebounds, assists are all up since last year... he really deserves the MVP because the Lakers are doing really well with how he is playing.

Without a doubt Kobe. He has no one else on his team that they can trust with the ball when it comes down to the wire. What would the Lakers be without Kobe? As for those of you that don't think thats conclusive enough, there are some obvious reasons why other "candidates" shouldn't be MVP.
First of all, I can't see Wade being named MVP simply because the Heat are floundering. Shaq being gone is probly a big factor, but an MVP should be able to carry a team.
Secondly, Nash, Dirk, and Arenas all have great supporting casts. Nash has Marion and Stoudemire as fellow superstars, and an all around great team. As for Arenas, Butler is putting up career numbers, and Jamison has been huge this season as well. The Mavs have Terry and Howard to back up big D.

It'll be between Nash and Dirk, they will get the most votes. In my opinion Nash should win it and I think he will. I can't say much about Wade, he's a very good player, but not MVP this year. He is young and will get better, he'll have his turn. Kobe for MVP would be a ridiculous choice. I'm not saying the guy isn't good, he is very good, but definitely not the league's MVP. Here's why. The guy has been a ball hog his entire career, never doing what's best for the team and always doing what's best for his own personal gain. All he ever cared about were his stats, and the only reason he changed that this season is because critics were starting to notice it. All of a sudden the guy decides this year he's going to start being more of a team player, and everyone thinks he should be rewarded for it. He should not be congratulated for doing something he should have been doing all along. He has definitely improved, but MVP? No way.

It is tough this year, as there are at least 5 contenders for the MVP award. The top 5 on my list are Kobe, Nash, Nowitzki, Arenas and LeBron.
Nash is my first choice, however, I believe that the NBA won't choose Nash for a 3-peat.
This brings down to my 2nd guess to win the MVP: LeBron James.

OK I am biased from being a mavs fan but my argument is legit...
you cannot say Wade if their team if struggling to simply make the playoffs in an already weak conference, sure he has helped them but any allstar who can score 30 any night can put a team at 500 (almost)...
Koke...its Kobe 24 but its still all about him getting the ball. His changed game and helping his teammates is overrated because when it comes down to it, he gets the ball, theres no one else on the team you can trust with it in crunch time. Thats why many teams have been able to focus on him and prevents the team from winning
Nash...Its easy to run and gun during the regular season, and he has two mvps, but look at the suns against good defensive teams (playoff caliber defenses)...he makes his team better and can score in the crunch but his team does not win close games against teams that can slow down suns basketball
Of course their might be others but Dirk is the best choice. First look at All-Star voting...only player on best team for most of the season is him....So it takes one player to go 39-5 since an 0-4 start? Look at Terry before Dallas, then look at the maturation of several players on the mavs...devin harris, erick dampier, but mostly Josh Howard....his improvement is due to the attention dirk gets that allows him to open up his game....ok so stop the mavs stop dirk? double him and he can feed others who are wide open and usually will make shots, zone? he can match up against any position on the court and create some sort of mismatch...man on man...its a joke...there is no way to stop him...but as ALL of this proves...stopping him cannot stop the mvp presence that his team has become use to...

This is tough...Steve Nash won it the last two years, so I'm sure the NBA doesn't want him to win it this year because that would put him in the same class as guys like Chamberlain. Unfortunately for them, he is having his best season as a pro and his team is as well, so it's hard not to. It's between him and Dirk in my mind, but he edges him out because Nash has been more consistent and done more for his team than Dirk this year.

Kobe deserved it last year what white player ever average 35.4ppg while leading their team to a winning record? I love how people call black players who average over 30ppg ball hogs when no white players ever averaged that much the only one to come close was Larry Bird at 29.9 ppg once but it's also ok that there's no black president but Steve Nash is 2 time MVP? Not only that the trick above me is hatin on Kobe and everyone's always saying he's not this and Jordan was this and Jordan was that but how about the fact that Nash averages like .7 steals a game? What guard ever won MVP averaging .7 steals a game? Obviously defense does count towards MVP. John Stockton averaged 2.17 throughout his career! So how can you hate Kobe for shooting 45% while averaging 35.4ppg and not even think about the .7 steals. It's retarded!!! Look at Stocktons stats one year he averaged 17ppg 13.6 assists and 3.21 steals. I think Dirk is better then Nash because at least he's been to the finals and if the games on the line he'll be the one taking shots. If Nash's team mates can't deliver then he's toast. Not saying Nash isn't good but the best? 3 Time MVP with no trips to the Finals?

I think its nash, it annoys me so much that people say that nash shouldnt win it cause he has a great supporting cast and he has marion and stoudamire, but before nash came they both played for phoenix and phoenix sucked if it wasnt for nash the team wouldnt be what it is today and most of the people on his current team werent exactly great players statistically. I think he deserves it as he is the best point guard in the league and hes also one of the few pure point guards in the league and there arent enough of them, his team would not be the same team without him and not only that hes having the best season in the his career.

Gilbert Arenas of The Washington Wizards. Already voted to the Allstar team. He scored 60 points against Kobe in their first matchup this season in L.A.

It should be Tracy McGrady (T-Mac) because of the way he has turned up all his stats because of the injury to Yao and eventhough his scoring is the lowest since he was with the Raptors it because he has the highest rebounding, assists, steals, and blocks in his recent days!!! Plus he is giving all the Rocket players confidence like Rafer Alston (Skip To My Lou), Juwan Howard, Shane Battier, Luther Head, and Kirk Snyder!!
