what do i have to do to get a burned dvd to play on my home dvd player?

i can burn it to the cd but when i put it in my home player it says error and that this disc my not hav play back feature avalible?????

You have to burn it to a dvd not a cd.I use Nero Oem Suit 6.6 and it works well.
