Blu-ray would be more permanent I guess. This is an odd question for sure. One disadvantage to the pen drive is that they do have a limited life-span. You may never see its death but flash drives have a limit on the amount of rewrites they can perform before becoming corrupted and unstable. Without looking it up in google I would say that its something on the order of 10,000 rewrites. Blu-ray.... sheesh .... really I think its a marketing joke. They have already invented storage medium that will blow blu-ray out of the water. They got optical discs in the lab that would rival many hardrives. We're talking tens of gigs to near 100 gigs. Then you've got the usual problems with optical disks. Scratches for one. About the best thing I can really say about blu-ray is its got a catchy name. Pen drives are fast and very convenient.

What do you mean? They are 2 entirely different devices! One is a burner and the other is a temporary storage device!
