maybe it is a function of your age. maybe you went to college too soon after you graduated from HS. i think you need to leave school for a year or two, take on random, mindless jobs, jobs that those that do not hold degrees get. you need to learn about how the world goes round and what your place in it should be. you probably just do not have enough experience with different things, so you don't know what major you should follow to achieve your goals. one thing that i know as a fact: you need to find out what you love to do and then go after THAT.

i chose to get married and have a child rather young. i chose to put off my post-secondary education to raise my child. i am glad i chose to have my son, but then again, for his first 8 years, i yearned to attend college. then i learned that i could get a scholorship! gee, i was so surprised! so i filed all the papers, took all the tests, interviewed with all the entrance counselors, and then took the bull on by its horns.

you see, after doing jobs that ended at a dead end, going to the university was a whole new opportunity to me. i only aced it because of MY BURNING DESIRE to grab everything i could out of the entire experience. i waited and then i LOVED studying. i studied what i loved, too. and i am not bad off for doing it my way.

you need to learn how to do it your way. you may learn that college is not for you. perhaps opening a business is. perhaps, like paul mccartney who does what he loves to do, playing a guitar and writing and singing songs is your thing. then go for it, and take it!

Are you just sleepy or is it that you don't understand the lesson? Have your IQ tested or something. Some vitamins or medication can make you sleepy. Also, if you eat too much comfort foods for breakfast or lunch, that could also make you sleepy. Or is it that you don't get a good night's sleep. I don't think just being bored can make one sleepy unless they really need sleep. I only mention these because you say that your brain is asking for information.

What's your life like in general? Are there family problems? Are you unhappy at home? Ask yourself questions like these because they can cause some form of depression or lethargy.

Good luck.

If you're still in high school, it's understandable. I was the same way. Once you get into college though, your attitude should change for the better.
