I am testing all limits. I wanna see what i am capable of. I am feeling strange though. I hate the world sometimes. I love it most of the time. I just wanna rebel though. I want to be DIFFERENT. I want to be someone. Want to be the one people talk about. I want attention. But I want to make a scene. Like I am gonna stop eating for a while. And like do stuff. Like Crazy stuff. Is it bc I am 19, and I am being stupid. Or is this from being a perfect little angel all my life. Why am I acting like a rebel????

[[yawn]].

Sounds like you're just desparate for attention.

That's all.

There are three things you must do to determine if your question means a diddly-squat to you or just a form of being angry at wisdom.

1. How would knowing you have cancer change your need for an answer? Where is tomorrow on your list of things to do?

2. How would attention prove you were unique or not? Are you sure tomorrow you will be someone you want to be?

3. What's the payoff? What do you really get out of it? Tomorrow will be too late to change the things you needed to change today.

I know you didn't buy a clue, so this one is for free. Life is real permanent. You are not an actor in some imaginary film. What happens, happens to all of us. The best things in life are those we bust our butt to get. In fact, they are great BECAUSE we bust our butt. You want to attract attention; recognition? What happened to that guy that saved the kid on the railroad tracks? Afterwards, he just left because he said he didn't do it for the attention. He did it because it was the right thing to do. AND, he didn't have to contemplate if it was the right thing to do. He knew it was before hand. So, he acted immediately. That's what an adult does.

Why the need to prove you are unique. That is a given. The first day of school when you were 6 or 12 or 15, all you wanted was to be enough alike to be allowed into a cool group. But you should have found out along the way that self-worth and self-respect were way more imporant and attractive to the opposite sex than being in the right group. And, that doesn't happen overnight or to someone afraid to admit they are wrong or be willing to change. What do you stand for? What do you want to be recognized as standing for?

You need to figure out what you would be willing to walk away from and what you would be willing to jump into because it is the right thing to do. But remember, Life is such a permanent decision. If you don't know, well hell, neither do the rest of us, yet. But, we're bustin our butt working on it.

The hardest thing to take out of this is this little lesson: You must be the leader in your life. Not over other people, but, over all your wants and desires. Make intelligent decisions and be willing to live by those decisions. It's called growing up. Some don't do that until they are 50 or when their parents die or need to be taken care of.

You want to be unique? Do it today. Surprise the hell out of the rest of us.

Well, at 19 you're a bit old to be acting like you're 13, which is what your description sounds like. It's certainly not unreasonable to be angry, or to wish to test your limits, or the limits of your surroundings, at any age. However, it sounds like you haven't learned any of the refinements necessary for disaster prevention, such as thinking things through before you act.

Note that, in a civilized society, your actions must not cause physical hurt to others, cannot prevent other people from going about their own lives, and may not damage the private property of others. Even if you have no intention of hurting anyone, you may not frighten others.

It is also necessary to support yourself financially in an honest manner, and to remain healthy and uninjured such that others won't be bothered with having to rescue you, whether or not you wish to be rescued. That may eliminate a good deal of the 'crazy stuff' you've mentioned.

Within those limits, you can paint yourself blue for all anyone cares. You might wish to ask yourself if you're angry with anyone, including yourself, and if so, what the issues are.

Most true rebels act quite rationally. They either see some error in the established way of doing things that they wish to correct, or else they look at life somewhat differently from most people and simply wish to make their way in the world on their own terms. These are perfectly acceptable, of course, though typically they're not very comfortable.
