some people say the united states is in a world war right now -do you agree -how is this world war different than other -if this is a world war and how will we know if we won -or how will we know if we lose.

i do not thing you are in a WW now.
the US under BUSH is in a war with the muslim world, i would say!
i do not know how Bush can win any war in the world.
he keep pissing every off, no one want to help him anymore.
so you got a situation like in iraq as you see now.
everyone is looking to pull their troop out.
not because they afraid of those stone age muslim as some of you think, they have enough of it already, enough of bush pointless war.
it is not war to prevent the terror as the 911 to happen again. now it is war for what i do not know now.
you can not be any safer when your leader keep making more enemy rather than friend.

a rightful question that has no direct answer. why? number one -- the world is too big now and more than a few nations make up its entire composition. thus -- we are not at world war III. that is number one issue. to win and to lose a war that is an old expression that does not apply anymore to war and non-war situations. it is simply international politics and/or economies that are in play. did Lebanon lose a war, did Israel win a war -- from the latest debacle on the world scene -- no is the answer to both. same situation at present with USA vs. Iraq -- there will be no winner, no loser because that is the new war outcome. if you have more people/soldiers die -- it does not mean you lose and if you establish a new government more in line with your own politics that could be temporary and not for long term. so where is the win? hope it helps.

It is a war on extremist. Anybody who cares about there safety should take precautions. That is what the USA considers itself doing. Then again the USA could have instigated it, there are so many things behind the scenes people never see. All you can do is support your government, change it or move. Lastly, you cannot win a war against suicidall people all you can do is contain them. The President had it right the 1st time he said it. Later changing it to sound politically correct because people dont want to hear they cannot win. I guess the USA looses if they someday take on the values of extremist.

When other countries start sending money to rebuild you`ll be sure the country lost. When the country goes broke, you`ll be sure the country won.
Look at what happened to Germany and Japan. Did they lose?
