Ispropyl Alcohol is for external use only. It say that on the bottle. There is nothing wrong with using it on the skin. You could take a bath in it if you wanted to. I wouldn't though. Ethyl alcohol is safe both in and outside the body except in excess. It has two pluses going for it so I would say that if you were going for the absolute safest your best bet would be Ethyl.

I would think ethyl alcohol, since it is the alcohol used in spirits and is therefore safe for human consumption would be safer. I believe isopropyl alcohol would be poisonous in any quantity.

Im almost 100% sure isopropyl is rubbing alcohol (for your hands).
