i drive an acura sedan. live in SoCal. only drives local from school/work to home. it kinda looks funky to me. should i take them off?

if you don't go in the dirt then take them off, removes weight and probably makes it look better too

I feel that they only aid the tailgaters. If you live in areas like Illinois where they use alot of salt it is actually harder on your car, because it holds in all that road grim in your wheel wells, and promotes faster rusting.

In short, you want to stop tailgaters, keep off the flaps.

I dont see why you cant. My mom lives in Riverside and she dont have none on her Buick, but Californias law is a little vague on this. Check out this website (its based on commercial vehicles, but CA section says 'all vehicles' (who knows???)(has info on mudflaps for all 50 states) and page 2 has info on CA. You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader for it as it is a pdf file.

You can take them off if you want. Their only purpose is to keep the paint clean.
