Your baby will tell you when she's ready, my son who just turned 1 started at 5 months, I noticed he was watching us eat all the time and he looked curious so I started. Start with veggies, your baby is going to love his first experience with food, and will develop her taste early, and we all complain our kids dont like veggies. Just remember, bananas bind and peaches help them poop.

Babies are all different, so there are no hard and fast rules that apply to every baby. When formula or breast milk no longer satisfies your baby for the normal 3-4 hours, than that is the sign that they are ready for something else. First start with cereal- rice is best and causes the least allergy problems. Mix a small amount with formula or breast milk. When your baby gets used to the spoon than start with bananas. Add a new food every week so that you can monitor for allergic reactions. Try to add a variety of color as far as fruits and veggies go, so they get the widest range of nutrients. You will learn quickly what your baby likes and doesn't like. Good luck!

You can start her on rice cereal now. Mix it with formula or breast milk. As far as the Gerber foods, not until she's 6 months old. No sooner than that. Her digestive systems can't handle it.

Ideally 6 months of age, but if she doesn't seem satisfied after a milk feed, start her on rice cereal at 4 months and see how she goes. Take it slowly, and be on the look out for allergies. Then you can introduce other foods once she seems to tolerate the cereal. Good luck!!

my granddaughter starts her 4Th month on the 14 of Feb.i gave her rice cereal with a little formula in it and a little first stage banana.(just a teaspoon of cereal) she loves it the one way you can tell when there ready is look at your baby tongue when she eating the movement also if she can push the nipple out with her tongue of the bottol.remember she has to learn how to eat so dont give up.just because she looks like shes pushing it out.this first week i will give her a teaspoon a day next week twice a day and then a normal 3 times a day.start your child on one fruit only for about a week, this way if she has a allergy.you will know what fruit it was.doctors dont want you intil 5 months but they dont know it all.here is some info about why doctors dont know it all.

At 4 months you start with cereals.Starting with Rice cereal, then other flavors. At 6 Mont's other solids of coarse smashed with baby formula. At 12 months would be the time for well cooked meet and eggs.

Always start with rice cereal, its the easiest to digest, then you go to other jarred foods, start with veggies then go to fruit then meats.I would hold out a little longer, recommendation is 6 months,I would suggest to talk to your doctor, the babys digestive systems are not developed properly yet to handle other foods till about 6 months.Breast milk or formula is all your baby needs right now unless your doctor has told you otherwise.

You should start when your baby doesn't seem satisfied with only milk. If your baby is showing interest in food. Four months is a good age to introduce food if you want to try it out.

i always started feeding my kids baby food when they started drinking more that 60oz of breast milk/ formula in 24 hours time
i think the doc recommends rice cereal at 4 months, but you just got to use your parental instinct
