Have you try a night light to get use to sleeping alone? You have to realize that the darkness is a friend. The darkness hides all your flaws, atleast the physical ones. The darkness lets you do things that would otherwise seem weird. Enjoy the darkness. Also, it's comforting to have a weapon next to you. A sword or a big knife if you're not into guns.

There are psychiatrists who specialise in desensitisation and phobias. You may well need help with this. It is fairly sensible not to want to go out alone at night. Try sleeping with a nightlight (very dim light) and put talk back radio on low volume. I sleep alone in this manner.

I wouldn't go out alone in the dark night myself, but in the confines of your house assuming its secure, I would try to overcome my fear by going straight for it. Images of demonic eyes and bloodshot glares emerging bright and strong from the dark may be scary, but if you can walk straight into the unknown and survive, you can help overcome your fear.

Meaning, try walking around your house in complete darkness, even with how scared you are.

Try using a night light, or plugging your ears with something or something to listen to at night. If you don't want to, you could always try to confront your fear, by proving there's really nothing wrong in the dark.

I know what you mean and I'm grown. I have night lights everywhere in my home. In the bathroom, hallway, bedroom--everywhere. This helps with the home. I have flashlights in my car, in my night stand and a mini one in my purse.
Hope this helps.
