You can minimise a cold by keeping warm, eating good nutrition and getting plenty of rest. If your head is blocked up and that is keeping you from sleeping well, take vitamins with Echinacea, Zinc and vitamin C before going to bed. I would also eat garlic every day and take a garlic supplement. Echinacea is a natural herb that helps to reduce the swelling in your sinuses. Zinc, vitamin C and garlic all help your immune system to beat the bugs.

Sip a lemon and honey drink anytime you have trouble breathing or have a sore throat. Put 1 teaspoon of honey and juice of half a lemon into a mug and fill up with boiling water. Stir until the honey is dissolved. Don't sip it in bed, I went to sleep and spilt the hot drink on myself, ouch.

I hope you feel better soon.

Take Vitamin C, also to help with sore throats gargle with salt water, Rest and relax, chicken noodle soup, take a steamy shower, when you sleep at night prop your pillow up that way your not laying flat, if you can a humidifier wont hurt you so you should go get one. That is the most you can do for a cold while your preg if you get desperate you can take Tynaul but you have to get the okay from your Dr. I hope you feel better sweety I know how it feels it is hard just be positive

eat plenty of fruit & vegetables, drink a lot of water... no caffeine, (or nicotine or alcohol, but i hope you wouldn't do that anyway)
i like the minute maid orange juice that has added calcium, and if you aren't sleeping well, try a lavender bath before bed, drink some hot decaf tea with lemon & honey to help clear out your chest and sinuses.
when you have a cold you should drink more than normal, and thats hard to do when you are pregnant, because you have to go potty so often, but it really will help.... and water sure gets boring... i like the crystal lite single serving packets.... and stay away from nutra-sweet, it has qualities that make a person feel fatigued, use splenda or just real sugar.

have a happy pregnancy :)

Drink plenty of water, rest up and eat well.

Taking vitamins are a safer option to medication, which only treat the symptoms anyway. A cold is a virus and cannot be cured as such.

Zinc and vitamin C are good things to take, but just keep your body in as good a condition as possible with a good diet and plenty of water.

PLEASE try these 3 remedies...EVERY time I feel run-down or get that tickly feeling in my throat I take these 3 things and it NEVER turns into a full-blown cold.

1) Olive Leaf Extract by "Herb Pharm"....it's in liquid form, and has no side effects...it immediately goes to work to kill any viruses in you...and it's all natural.

2) "JarrowDophilus", by "Jarrow Formulas"...it will keep the healthy "flora" in your body in perfect balance which keeps your immune system strong.

3) "Emergen-C" Vitamin C packets by "Alacer"

All three can be purchased at "Whole Foods Market", possibly "Trader Joe's", or call your local health food store to inquire about these 3 products.

EVERY friend and family member who has taken this advice, hardly ever gets sick.

For your throat: "Peaceful Mountain--Throat Rescue"
You will NEVER find a more powerful throat spray which is all-natural....soothing, fast acting, and kills bad bacteria on contact.

You'll see!! :) Get well soon!

Vitamin C and warmth. A good remedy, if you can stand it, is to flood your system with a high ascorbic acid juice like grapefruit or orange juice. As with any virus, keep yourself hydrated and try to rest as much as possible.
