He seems to like the bottle more because it is easier for him to get milk out than with breastfeeding. Just eliminate the bottles and stick to breastfeeding. He'll catch on and forget all about the bottle eventually.
O good luck with breastfeeding!! It's a beautiful experience and well worth it!

The important thing is that your baby eats. If your baby prefers the bottle, than give him the bottle. I assume that you are pumping and he's getting breast milk either way, so there's really no need to "force" him or to take away the bottle. You will just be causing trouble for yourself and as a new mom, that's the last thing you need. Give him the bottle and make him happy!
My sister-in-law had the opposite problem- her baby would not take a bottle, at all, EVER. She ended up breast feeding until the baby could drink from a cup. Believe me, it isn't a problem that your baby prefers a bottle. Again, if he is eating, than that is the important thing. I promise.

My baby had a bottle for two weeks while I had mastitis. When I got home from hospital, I just offered her the breast every 20 minutes until my milk supply increased again. So it can be done, only offer the breast, but more often. One thing to keep an eye on is to make sure that the baby's nose is clear of your breast when he is drinking, so he can breath. They do find the bottle easier, but breast feeding is far more convenient, safe and healthy. Best wishes.

I had the same problem! So, I asked the Doctor and she said it was really important to either supplement with a bottle/formula or begin to pump and still use the bottle, since that's all he really liked. Babies tend to get really frusterated when they can't latch on properly and in turn makes us frusterated......not a good situation when you have a starving baby. I would strongly suggest you just pump and give him your milk through a bottle; that way you'll both be happy:-) It's worked for us great, my son is 17 days old now. Good Luck:)))

it really is extremely exciting. Now you've were given me questioning about jaw progression and the way it progresses and for a way lengthy. provided that the speed and length time that little ones breastfeed varies a lot, did it say if breastfeeding had to happen for a particular length of time to have a huge difference? it variety of appears like that is enormously variable. It is smart that there is a few differences in jaw progression, yet you'll probable pick a enormously educated eye (and perhaps really a crystal ball) to inform the enormous difference each and every from time to time!

You need to find good qualified help ASAP before your son refuses the breast all together. Contact Le Leche or a lactation consultant. Le Leche leaders are more than happy to give you specific one on one help for free. They have local meetings where you can meet other breastfeeding moms and have any questions or concerns answered. Plus it's a great way to meet new friends or you and your baby.
Please contact Le Leche. Go on their website and find a local leader or two and email them your question right now.
Good luck, and don't delay any longer or this will get worse and worse.

ok.. well i am doing the same thing and your son will exept the breast. if he feels it is not comfortibal for him he will get fussy and nights will be hell. i have twin baby girls that are 2 weeks and they like breast because of the warmth they sleep longer and less sickness will happen. bottels sound good but end up not so good and sometimes leads to ear infections and sad babys..... go with the breast and at 4-6 months go for the bottle
happy to help

You may find that for a while your baby may not eat well, but if he doesn't eat properly he'll get hungry and that will encourage him to eat longer.
I wouldn't say it will be easy, but your baby won't starve himself just because it isn't a bottle, so eventually will learn to accept the breast

Oh boy, I know what you are going through. None of my kids liked the boob, but they were all given my breastmilk. I pumped my milk, put it in the fridge and the freezer and continued to give them my breastmilk from Avent baby bottles. Babies R Us has electric breast pumps and Avent bottles.
