You will need some adzuki beans. From this you will make a "tea" that will clean you out in short order. Take 1 cup of adzuki beans, (you can get these at Whole Foods) and place in pot. Cover with 3 cups of water. Bring water to a boil, reduce heat, cover the pot and simmer for 30 - 40 minutes or until beans are tender. Pour off liquid, add a few drops of Shoyu soy sauce for flavor and balance, then drink 4 - 6 oz. of this liquid as a hot tea. You may eat the beans if you like. Add a little salt and some vinegar to taste. If you don't have relief in an hour, then drink another cup.
** Note: Constipation is caused by not eating enough vegetables and fiber in your diet. Increase your fiber intake by eating beans 3 - 4 times per week and cut way back on cheese if you do. Eat short grain brown rice every other day, alternating with the beans. This should help the problem on a long term basis. Remember, drink plenty of fluids. Hope this helps.

Accupuncture is the best cure, but not everyone wants to go that route. Without it I probably would still be waiting to go after about three weeks. Ok, Zelnorm is probably not what you need, it will help constipation, but it is for a more serious condition. What you should ask your doctor for is something called Miralax. It is by perscription right now, and is very strong and very good, works pretty quickly no matter how stuffed you are. It will be over the counter in about 6 months or so. But it is by far the safest thing you can use. You can use an enema or suppository for now, but in the long run you just get addicted to them.

for a natural approach fruit.and juice preferably apple juice. pumpkin really works. Drink lots and lots of water dehydration has a lot to do with causing constipation. what ever you do don't let it last like this cuz when you finally go you will get an anal hernia and anal fishers(not sure on the spelling) but its when the bowel scratches and cuts the lining of your intestines. Your best bet if its that bad is an enema.
GOOD LUCK!

Have you tried an enema/laxatives/more fiber? This may help. Regardless, maybe you should go to the doc, as he can suggest other ways to help alleviate your symptoms and to find out why you're constipated. Good luck with you (I know that it can get annoying...I had really bad stomach problems, so I went to the doctor and found out that I was lactose intolerant. With a few minor changes, the ailments were reversed). Cheers! Hope you feel better!

An old remedy is brown sugar in water - about a tablespoon to half a cup of water, try that. If it persists, please see your doctor as constipation can actually have nasty effects and end you up in hospital.

WebMD is probably a better place for this kind of advice:

Start by asking a pharmacist what OTD products work well. Ultimately the best thing to do if the problem persists would be to see your doctor.
