Sobriety !,dignity, politeness, etiquette and a self pride. Also a huge loyalty and honour to family. Who has worked and lived in S.E Asia ?

Are there any users here who have spent parts of their life in Thailand , Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma (Myanmar) Malaysia etc.? If so do you get a culture shock and a half when returning to UK?

Why have the British people allowed UK to become such a total disgrace? It is filthy and the people are lazy and disgustingly rude.

Ignore the media-driven myth

English people are not generally lazy or rude. The vast majority are pergectly pleasant people.

If you want "lazy and rude", try Portugal

I live in South East Asia (in Brunei) and return once a year to my home in Scotland. I agree with all the qualities you have listed for the people in SE Asia, but you forgot to add their patriotism, but obviously you hold that in no regard at all. I love it here, it's beautiful, calm and safe (take that, you Muslim bashers) but I equally love my home in the UK. Yes, there are lazy, rude people - but you try waiting in a queue in Kuala Lumpur and watch all the old ladies push in front of you. Stand on any street in Asia and watch the men hawking snot into the ditches and just smell a storm drain - the world is not a perfect place. You can't make sweeping generalisations about whole countries - everywhere you go, you will find decent, hard working and moral people, and you will also find filth, squalor and bad manners - it's a global thing. I have lived in five different countries, and travelled to many more. I think I can talk with some degree of experience.

More of the governments way to dictate how its peoples will or won't take care of themselves. No government on earth has the right to tell us what is good for us. Governments are ONLY BIG BUSINESS at best. I can already see that a fee/tax would be exacted from the people for this. 'They" don't care about you as a person, a living soul, they only care about how much $$$ you generate for them. It has absolutely nothing to do with your health. Government are suppose to work for us, not to dictate how our lives will be run, by them preferably. Laws etc... are meant to work for us, however, the opposite is true. It is unlawful to do this. Please read Mary's PDF file and get out of the monopoly game.

Sweeping generalization here. Have you been to every part of Britain? Have you met every one in Britain? NO you haven't, so please don't think everyone is the same. You have obviously had some bad experiences, well let me tell you something when we were in Portugal ( not the Algarve) we were abused by many of the locals who often refused to serve us in the supermarket. Some Americans we spoke to said they'd had the same experience and also a French couple said they'd had problems.
Now that is what I call rudeness and arrogance. You will find good and bad people everywhere you go. Yes we in Britain have a few problems to sort out but so do most other countries.

Yup, I've lived in Asia my whole life. I come from Hong Kong but live in India and yes, it hurts me to think that 'some' Brits have a problem with Indians and India and honestly it saddens me to know that they do not indeed have good people value!
