It is great to have a best friend, but if you are over possessive of them, that's not healthy. But I also understand how you would be close to your best friend to the point where she will be unable to have a boyfriend or more friends.
You fear that someone will take your best friend away. Your fear is that she will never hang out with you because in the past you had people taken away from you,...all because of a fair unjust cause. Life can be cruel and people can be mean.
But you have to understand this, why are you not getting more friends? You must mingle more with other people in order to get a balance out of life.
Perhaps your best friend will think, "Gosh, my buddy is having a good time in her life with new friends" and she would like to hang with you more.

Don't be possessive. It's a bad habit you have to get rid of. Just think in the future how jealousy can turn a relationship sour and realize the damage it can cause for future healthy relationships?

Hang in there and don't forget you are beyond having low standards. Mingle, make new friends, and be sure not to suffocate them.

We all go through that at some point. Especially when you've been close for a long time then all of a sudden here come a third party that gets in the way. It's hard, but if you get in the way of her and her boyfriend you may lose her. Guys come and go and you'll always be there she won't forget that.

To some degree yeah. I understand you may want to spend time with her while she wants to meet a new friend but we all need to have a time on our own. If you find yourself really needing her to stand by you talk to her about it but also respect that she is also going to need some space to do her own thing. You might also want to take this as an opportunity to go out and meet new people too or to get in touch with your other friends so you can have some fun and catch up on other things.

A true friend enjoys the time and things you can share together while respecting each others opinions and space.

It is not good to try and control the other person.

A boyfriend should not be a threat just an additional happiness for your friend.
Allow them their time along with making it clear in friendly terms to her that you still wish to spend time together just the two of you as before.

Soon - it will be you that has the boyfriend also! You will then wish for her to allow you the same respect and space.

Yes. It's called selfish.

Friends ought to be happy for their friends when their friends are happy. AKA, just because you don't currently have a boyfriend doesn't mean that she can't or shouldn't.

When you grow up a bit, and you'll understand that you are wrong, and why you are wrong.

i don't know i'm kinda goin thru that kind of thing with my bestfriend cuz her boyfriend doesnt't really like me so i started to wonder that myself, i've tried spending less time with her so that when we do hang out its more fun and we catch up more, and it sorta helped, plus he was less reluctant to hang out with me because i hadn't seen her in a few days
hope that helped

Wrong and umm...a little psychotic. Get some other friends. And possibly some therapy. Your clinginess will drive that girl away.

Its just a bad lifetime movie waiting to happen.

Not cool. Surround yourself with people who are supportive. Dump this girl, she has too much jealousy.
