My son has to make a model for school and I am having a hard time finding ideas. He is in fourth grade, so the simpler the better.Any help would be great, or if you could tell me where to find more info. Thanks!

This is a little bit of a crude experiment but you can try it as it simulates the effect of the earthquake.

Take two very large cookies, and I mean very large as in the size of a normal dinner plate.

Place them side by side, and move one away from you, and the other one towards you while making sure that they rub against each other. You should start to notice cracks appearing on the cookies.

This simulates the movement of the tectonic plates, which cause earthquakes.
