Do you think my dad needs a serious treatment?

My dad has been annoying me last few years.. And he's getting worse..
He's more self-centered and ask for more attention, I haven't got a job cause I'm still in the university,he asked me to buy an expensive thing without giving me money,I had to buy it with my own money, otherwise he would get angry..
He gets angry easily.He often get mad bout little things, and his words are rude..
He always has negative toughts bout everything and everyone.. He never see a single thing with a positive side..
He's also a racists, but never admit that he's a racists..
He's a coward, when he's mad to his children or the workers, he often asks my mom to discipline them.. when my mom is mad to us, he makes it worse by saying things that makes my mom more angry with us..
He earns money, but my mom earns more, he doesn't share his earning with his family.. It's my mom who pays for the family needs.. All he does everyday is betting online.. Do we need to get him some help?

Let's see, anger, narcissism, emotionally abusive, gambling addict. Yes, he has problems, but you knew that. Yes, he needs treatment, but chances are he won't get it.

It may not work on him, anyway. If he has narcissism, treatment generally doesn't work. It sounds like he lacks insight, which would help him make some meaning out of the treatment. Probably the best thing you can do is to get treatment, maybe from the university mental health center, on how to deal with him. Later, when you're out of school, you can probably stay clear of him. I think that therapy for you and your siblings would help the most and be the best thing you could do.

It sounds like you have some issues to talk about. Wait until the time is right and ask your mother what she thinks. Gambling can be a terrible disease.
