I would have no problem if a friend told me this as long as I'm not the guy they like. I don't have anything against homosexuals as long as they don't hit on me...
I think that you should still be friends with him. He probably thinks of you as a good friend if he told you that.

Where did the idea come from that just because he is attracted to men he is going to rape this guy? I have known plenty of women who are attracted to men, and I have to say I haven't been raped once.
My best friend and roommate (who I've known since I was 8 or 9) told me he was gay two and a half years ago, and we lived together for another two years. He didn't try to rape me once... imagine that.
Seriously, though, it's not that big of a deal. Your friend is going to want someone to help him through a tough transition in his life. It can be very difficult for some people to tell their friends and especially their family. You ought to be a man and be a friend, and just help him through it. You two will be better friends for it. And besides... we all know that women love to hang out with gay guys... maybe he can get you some girls!

I had the same experience with a college roommate who let me know his feelings towards men about a month after we had been roommates. I was a bit shocked at first, but then concluded that as long as he didn't try coming onto me or bring guys back to the room to fool around, I really didn't care how he got his jollies elsewhere. Things worked out fine.
Some percentage of the population is gay (~10%?) and that's just the way it is. They didn't ask to be that way, they just are. So I wouldn't tell a good friend to get lost just because he admitted his homosexuality to me.

i imagine you should only be instantly with him. If he has those thoughts and it makes you uncomfortable .... tell him. only enable him comprehend that you do not percentage his thoughts about homosexuality although the final analysis is that he continues to be an similar guy you grew to develop into acquaintances with and there is not any reason your friendship can't proceed.some human beings would relate you to him in strategies that are not to any extent further authentic yet when you're tender with your self ..... who cares what human beings imagine. you need to be in a position of shrug it off and take a fulfillment for a chum. instruct you've integrity as someone and do not base your skill to proceed to be acquaintances on his sexual possibilities. it really is loopy!!!

i cant even believe you call yourself his friend and you have to ask this question on yahoo...alright...for starters. there is NOTHING wrong with being gay. if hes been your best mate for a while it would be a totally assholeish thing to ditch him in a time like this. fck all your who are all like. hes such a queer. who cares if hes gay. hes still the same person, he just doesnt have the same sexual preferences as you. and he might not even be gay. maybe hes curious or bisexual...youd be a terrible person for not being his friend because of his sexuality...there are gay people where you work, eat, learn, breathe...theres gay people everywhere LIVE WITH IT!

Stick by him and be his friend because he's going to need one. Be supportive. But be sure to let him know you're not into him that way.
