I have a social coming up. It's actually more of a semi-formal. Girls wear calf-length and upwards dresses, often cocktail style ones. I am 5"7' and have very dark brown hair, and very fair skin. I have largish hips and a small bust. Any suggestions for formal dress colours, styles?

for the small bust try to use a lot of motif or tulle on the top but for the bottom try to use a line, and for fair color skin any color should be good

If you have big hips and a small bust,you could walk on your hands to correct this.The only problem with this, is shaking hands, which you have to do a lot at a formal or semi-formal.

You should wear a tuxedo shirt with khaki docker pants. It says formal, but it also says "I came to party!"
Oh... you're a girl, I don't know what the equivalent of a tuxedo shirt is for women, sorry.

You need a strap prurple dress. that ties near the top and is like slingy at the bottom.

wear a red ir black or brown or navy speggeti strap dress that flows out at the bottem, hopefully it has a little padding chck macys.com or bloomingdales.com

Black, brown, broken white, or any colour that fit with any moment. For the style, its up to you, just use your favourite. Cause it is for you.

Wear a suit no tuxes and don't wear alot of black it will make your fair skin look pearly white.

are you female? anyways if you're a man use a costume aka suit if not then wear some casual dress or womens suit it looks prety hot on any woman.

you need a somewhat short dress thats white or blue with fluffy fabric at the bottom.
