don't let it get to you...im a firm believer in the fact that we all have our moments...don't worry your turn will come around..it's not that people don't find you interesting or attractive...it's just different situations..dont let things you cannot control get you down. keep your head up and your turn will come around!

I have an interesting twist on this, when I'm in a group discussion and attempt to speak others always talk over me or interrupt. It's crazy but it always happens. I have no explanation or clue why it constantly happens but it does. I used to have a good friend who was aware of this and I could crack him up by acting like I was going to try to speak and then just shake my head like I couldn't. He would bust out laughing. I really miss him...
Anyway, I guess there's really nothing that can be done beyond smiling and staying engaged. Make comments and exclamations at appropriate times. Not much help though, sorry.

Maybe they're intimidated? Or turned off?
Maybe they're just turning and looking at your friend because it seems "safe" to look at her. (This doesn't mean that you're ugly or anything)
There are a lot of reasons why. But you're probably not gonna be able to find out unless you ask them or ask someone to ask for you.
In the mean time, just keep being yourself. Maybe try being a little colder when people speak to you, so they have to wonder if you're actually interested.
See how that works out.

Some people just have better social skills than others. You probably don't have what it takes to get people to look at you if you know what I mean, and it can't be helped sometimes. People are like that with me all the time - I just have grown used to it, and unless you come up with a revolutionary ability to be more socially appealing, I think you should just accept that's how it is.

I totally know how you feel... I feel the same way sometimes.... I think its because people like us are not as talkative or we dont show as much confidence as other people do. When talking to people .. try to make yourself feel confident.. " Act As If " you were really confident. Pretend that you someone important like a famous actor or something..... dont look down when talking to people and dont talk too quietly. also try to look people in the eyes and like you said shake your head so they know your paying attention to them... Its definately not because they dont like you... i dont talk alot so i think thats why people act that way towards me sometimes.... Good luck.. let me know if you need anymore help :)

It could be a sign of respect. I try not to stare at women when I'm in a group with them. Especially if they are only friends, even if they're attractive. If I do look at women in the group that I'm speaking with, it's hard to look at their face when they're attractive (that's being rude). So maybe people are just being polite?
Forget about it....Don't worry about it, it's probably nothing.

Look people in the eyes before, during and after you talk to them. This always works.

It could be for a lot of reasons. Maybe you are not as loud as your friend. Maybe you dont move around as much when you talk. Movement, such as hand gestures tend to catch peoples eyes.

maybe u are too attractive and people get too nervous to look into ur eyes. i'm not being sarcastic, either. if i'm talking to a really attractive person, sometimes i get nervous and i look away. if i was u, i would just try to look into their eyes while talking to them. i don't know what else u could do.
