Media conglomerates are corporations. Corporations are run by Republicans and control over 40% of the wealth in this country. I think it is time to put the liberal media myth to bed.

No liberal media bias? Oh yeah - that little memo thing over at CBS was definitely a hit from the right, wasn't it? And the little "oops" on the front page of the LA Times, where an altered picture appeared to show a British soldier pointing a gun at cowering Iraqis. Um - not a very conservative point of view, is it?
Need more? The Reuters photo scandal. Do a search if you've never heard of it. Some idiot altered pictures he took during the Israel/Lebanon battles last year -of course, he made Israel look like the bad guys. Again, *not* consistent with conservative ideology.
How about the AP? Good grief - most of their "reporters" seem to think it's their sworn duty to promote their liberal ideology. I saw the butchery of facts the AP uses first hand, when a hack named Mary Pemberton wrote a story about a local trapper that was grossly unfair - even the most liberal of my friends were surprised at her very obvious bias. Which, by the way, is against the AP's Code of Ethics. So much for that.
Beyond my personal experience, there's the fact that the AP could not provide any evidence of their "contact" in the Iraqi government, and *still* stood behind those stories. Oh goodness no - the liberals would *never* play dirty like that.

Almost all of the print media is liberal. Just look at the spiraling sales of newspapers across the country. CNN and MSNBC have a liberal bias. They both get creamed in ratings by Fox News. ABC,CBS, ABC have a liberal bias. The conservatives own talk radio. Every liberal that has tried to go on talk radio has failed miserably. Look at Air America, they went bankrupt. I'm not complaining, but it's very obvious that there is a natural liberal slant in the mainstream media. Why can't you admit it. Why can't you admit there is a liberal bias?
Now with your facts, these big corporations give money to both parties. The news division is a small fraction of that corporation.

Why, do you mean to say that the "liberal media" myth is just a monster dreamed up to discredit newscasters and the educated public foolish enough to watch the news? You're right. The media companies in fact trying to make money, more than anything else, although many of the actual reporters are still trying to do objective journalism. If the media had a liberal agenda, they wouldn't have spent so much time on the Lewinski scandal.

Lol. Easy answer. Every big industry needs a political bone thrown their way. It's an I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine thing. Politics aside, all money here is the same. Follow the money, you'll see that political parties are for the people, not business.

Most people who accuse the media of having a liberal bias are operating under the OLD information that Ted Turner still owns CNN. Turner is in no way affiliated with CNN anymore (no shares, no job, no board of director's seat). He severed his last ties well over 5 years ago, before Bush became President.
As people can see from the information you posted above, CNN is owned by Time-Warner, a conservative company. They also own AOL, and tried to sensor anti-AOL sites in their search engine.
As far as MSNBC, It's owned by GE, who's also an energy company. Energy=profits, which correlates into wanting more big-business tax breaks. Draw your own conclusions here.
However, I believe these channels are fair to both sides... not conservative, and certainly not liberal.

Don't forget Yahoo and all the money they gave Bush.
Salon.com is pretty liberal. Maybe that is what the Republicans are talking about.
