A benefit program to teach men about their rights as fathers would be helpful. It would also need to teach men about their responsibilities too, though, and that may be where it runs into trouble.

The reality is that many divorced dads pay so much in alimony and child support that they never recover financially, and because so many men are judged by what they do, not what kind of man they are, men who are divorced dads struggle with issues of self esteem and anger at the system. Any program that would help them would be a benefit.

I think the reason that there are so many programs for single mom is because there are so many single moms. Moms are usually the ones that care for the children. That being said, I think that there should be a programs for dads. Everyone raising a child by themselves needs a help. It could be daycare, discussion groups, legal aid, and any other reasonable request.
