I read online that Chris Rock graduated from Stuyvesant, which by the way is one of the most prestigious high schools in New York City. Aside from this, they say he was president of the Black Students League and the chess team.
I'm sorry, but I don't think I believe this. I think someone started this as a rumor, but it says all over the Internet that Stuyvesant was the high school Chris Rock went to. Does anyone actually believe this, and if so can anyone find a reliable website saying which year he graduated?

Why are you people assuming that he wasn't smart enough to attend Stuyvesant? It's not a matter of Chris Rock's "intelligence" to get in, it's that he grew up in a very poor neighbourhood so he probably wasn't able to afford classes to take the Stuy test. The test is so competitive that the only way to get in pretty much is to take classes for 1-3 years to be prepared for the exam. If his family was so poor that his mother had to wash her underwear in the sink, he most likely did not go to Stuyvesant, which is what I'm asking about.
