I believe the engine number should start with a "11", not a "12", since the engine is classifies as an 1100S, not a 1275 (which is the Clubman GT motor.) I think it also usually has an "S" at the end. Also, make sure the carbs are 1 1/2" SUs, not 1 3/4" or 2". Exhaust headers should be 3 pipes going into one about a foot below the head (not a "long centre branch" exhaust.) The exhaust pipe should exit the car at the rear and to one side (not in the centre.) Check the specs for the model you are looking at, but it should have front disc brakes (different sizes for different models.) Many also came with a quick release for the grille - 2 large thumb screws, one on each side, so they could get at the distributor faster during a pit stop.
