like i asked this lady once what her sweet little girls name was and she just looked at me in horror and said "its a boy and HIS name is joseph" i said i was sorry and she said peopel do it all the time. he was very young like oneish and had such long hair shoulders almost so i just asssumed!

I can beat that....I was waitressing one day and standing next to the cook. This couple walked by and I knew the guy well and I knew his girlfriend a little but she had never been very personable. I had seen him over talking to them. So when they walked by, I said "That Todd is such a nice guy, but I don't much care for his girlfriend". The cook looked at me and said "that's my mom"!

We were at a farm equipment show a couple of years ago and they had this amateur talent contest. I was standing next to this lady and there was a girl on stage singing. I commented that the girl singing wasn't nearly as good as the others I had heard before her. The lady looked at mean with this mean ol' look on her face and said, "I'll let you know that's my granddaughter up there and I think she sings like an angel!" She walked off and I laughed to myself, thinking, and you need hearing aids, old woman, lol!

yeah, that sux... so, usually when i see a kid like that i don't make comments anymore... people are so touchy about their kids... i mean, come on... if it's a boy, make HIM wear blue or something to help us out a little... or a girl, vice versa...
i hear ya... it's embarrassing... so, i just don't even say anything to people about their kids anymore...
