The plot was that a woman had met an alien and had a baby with him. Their baby, a girl, was named Evie. When Evie turned 13, she got her first alien power, which was to freeze time. She would touch the tips of her index fingers together to stop time and put her palms together to restart time. If Evie touched someone when time was frozen, that person would become aware of time being stopped.
Evie communicated with her dad through this diamond-shaped crystal that would open up with lights flashing when Evie's dad was communicating from his home planet.

it was called Out Of This World her daddy was a alien from planet Anterias (he and Evie's mother had married and 'blended life forms' when he was on an extended interplanetary visit), Her Mother's name was I think Donna. This was a cool show cant beleive some one remembers this.

It was a syndicated sitcom in the late 1980's.
Steve Burton (Jason Morgan on General Hospitial) played Evie's boyfriend.

Jeff bridges was the starman in the movie. The guy in the Tv show was the same guy from the Airplane Movies
