I have yet to find a site but I have found my brother that was given up for adoption, and am currently searching for my husbands mother that gave him up. I could try to look for your son for you but I would need more info. If you would like my help you can reach me at freebird3573@yahoo.com I would need more info such as city or state, age things like that. How old is your son? I was searching on the net a few places and came up with a couple of possible hits.

If you have already tried google and anywho.com you have already tried the best free resources. Sadly, in this world, money is what it takes to make people help most of the time. A straightforward service like intelius.com (instead of ussearch that tends to rely on intelius) is probably your cheapest option, but even it will cost you at least $50. Still, since he is your son, you should be able to find him with his social security number and last name using intelius.
