Usually around 8-10 weeks, you can hear it. You can see it through ultrasound as early as 6 weeks.

if they use a device called a Doppler, usually about 10 weeks, but can be as early as 6 weeks if the heartbeat is strong, the doctor/nurse is patient, and the baby's in a good spot. I got to hear my little one at 7 weeks, so don't let anyone tell you that's impossible!
If the doctor uses a stethoscope, that usually won't work until about 20 weeks.

We heard our babys heartbeat at 12 weeks with a doppler. It was amazing!! We tape recorded it, we both love being able to hear it whenever we want. I suggest bringing a small tape recorder with you when you do go. You will have something to treasure for years to come!
