Cytoplasm is everything inside the plasma membrane except the nucleus. It includes the cytosol and the organelles.

Cytosol is the gel-like substance around the organelles.

The organelles all have specific functions.

The cytosol lets materials diffuse from one place to another, and some of the cell's processes occur in the cytosol. For instance, glycolysis happens there (first part of respiration) before the molecules move into the mitochondria to finish the process.
