It is a normal part of growing up. You still want to have your fmaily around, but you also want your privacy. Hormones are playing a big part of this too. The teen years, no matter how bumpy the ride, are the best years of your life. You are old enough to do things that you couldn't do when you were in grade school, but you also don't have the responsibilities of an adult. Enjoy it!

Well you sound normal to me and I am 51 and been married for 19 yrs to my current wife. Sometimes I hate her and wishes she was somewhere else besides here at home with me cause I would like to be alone . But when she is gone to work I find myself missing her and I call her at work. When I feel lonely I don't feel like going to my local diner where some old buddies and aqaintenances hang out. I could keep going on and on but you know what I'm talking about and I am sure a lot of others do too.

i can't explain why-but i can understand wanting company like there-but not all-up-in-your-face there. i feel that way sometimes. sometimes your just don't wanna be with people and you wanna be at the same time. here's a test answer-its called being indecisive. here's another-it maybe caused by depression. or maybe not. maybe its just one of those things.

We all experience times of which you speak.
It is normal to want to have your own space.
And it is warming having family back up.
You say that you like this guy what is it about him that you dislike?
We all have little traits in our nature that others may not like but if you value his friendship, over look them and continue on being his friend.
Take care!

its called mixed emotions the best thing to do would probably be to take to a shrink or to a family member or friend that you can really trust and you know will give you the best advice.
