Oregon is a totally beautiful state to live in.
And it is so much cheaper than California, don't blame you for wanting to move!
The weather is cooler (but that's a good thing), people are friendlier, less stressed and less competitive.
Have a look at the states website and choose a new location to live in:

I grew up in Portland - No poison snakes or spiders, and they don't have to fear the weather for their lives. Drive for an hour and be skiing at Mt. Hood or at the beach, or boating on the river, or hunting dear/elk. A neighborhood park within walking distance of any residence, with a swimming pool, ball field and playground equipment! I expected to find this in any city - not so. Sure it rains for a couple of weeks in June and September, but you can go for a walk outside without having 5 kinds of flies that bite (Georgia), or chiggers in the grass that itch like crazy and are too small to see as they make their sores (Texas summers). The eastern 2/3 is plateau, dry, wheat & grain, and the western 1/3 is 2 ranges of mountains with cities along the coast and in the valley. And it's naturally air-conditioned!
