what gas will i produce if i mix yeast and water together?how do i identified the gas?

i dont know exactly how to do it

but u can elminate the option of oxygen

when u first make the mixture capture the gas in an upside down container

then use a lit match and hold it inside the container

if it was oxygen, then the flame would become bigger and brighter

You can bubbble the CO2 gas into lime water, Ca(OH)2, and you should get a cloudy white solution as CaCO3 is formed.

By the way, the CO2 is what causes a cake to rise.
