STEP 1: Greet Filipinos by saying, "Kumusta" (koo-moos-tah), for "hello" or "how are you," and saying, "Sige" (see-ge), for "OK," "go ahead" or as an informal "good-bye. "

STEP 2: Always say, "Po" or "Ho," at the end of each sentence and after "yes" or "no" when speaking to an elder. This is essential for conveying respect.

STEP 3: Say, "Oo" (o-o), for "yes," and say, "Hindi" (hin-dee), for "no." To elders, say, "Oho" (o-ho) or "Opo" (o-po), for "yes."

STEP 4: Utter, "Gusto ko" (goos-toh ko), for "I want," and say, "Ayoko" (a-yo-ko), for "I don't want."

STEP 5: Ask, "Saan ka pupunta?" (sa-an ka pu-poon-ta), for "where are you going?"

STEP 6: Say, "Bigyan mo ako" (big-yan mo a-ko), for "give me."

STEP 7: Tell a sweetheart or loved one, "Mahal kita" (ma-hal kee-ta), which means "I love you."

there are lots of ways on how you can say how are you in tagalog..here's a list:

1. "kumusta ka?" or "kumusta?" if its a formal meeting
2. "kumusta ka na?" if in previous meetings, it seems that the other party wasn't okay, you can ask him/her this one; or you havent seen each other for quite some time
3. "okay ka na?" to check on someone if he's doing okay or not.

Since I am of Filipino heritage, I know how to speak in Tagalog. Saying how are you is simple. Just say "Kamusta ka na?" or "Kamusta" if you want it simpler.

Pronounce it as: "kah-mus-tah kah nah" or "kah-mus-tah"
