Another thing you can do is watch as many matches as you can. Preferrably in person but on television is ok too. Watching the pros play can help a lot with strategy. If you have a game system like the Xbox 360, get a tennis game. It will help with strategy as well. Also, I suggest joining the USTA and playing in tournaments around your area. At the beginning the competition will be rough and you'll probably lose many times. But as you keep playing you'll start to get the experience aspect of tennis which is extremely important. If you don't have one already, start to develop a one-handed backhand. It really helps if you're stuck in a situation with little time to react. Other than that, get a coach, lift some weights, and run some suicides. As long as you keep playing, you'll improve.

Joining a tennis club or getting a coach is definately a good way to improve your game.
Also, doing alot of physical exercise as tennis involves alot of running around a court. Good stamina is important.
Watching games of tennis is a good way to get an idea of how to play as well as you can watch the way the pros play and copy alot of what they do.
Alot of people think that playing strategic games like chess and checkers can help you in tennis as it allows you to think about where you can "move" the pieces, or in tennis where you can hit the ball!
Good luck with your game!

First thing that came to my mind was to find a coach. A certified coach can teach you so much about the game and help you with anything you need.
Start lifting, but not to build up gigantic biceps like Nadal.

well, if you are playing singles, the best way to get better is to play against someone better than yourself. I mean i am 2 doubles, and when i want to get better at singles, i play against a person higher on our team. If you are playing doubles with someone though, i find that tying a rope to your ankle and his/her ankle is the best way, so that you guys stay in rhythm on court, and you guys arent to close or too far! In otherwords, always try to play against someone better.
