Absolutely not. And lets say by some miracle that in ten years time I'm rereading the books and think they're crap... I'm still going to love Harry for the effect he had on my childhood. I've been reading Harry Potter for basically as long as I can remember. I first read it at 9. I'm now 18. That's half my life that I've spent the majority of my waking hours thinking about Harry Potter. Harry Potter is the reason I love reading. Reading is the reason I went well at school (seriously). I think that's a pretty direct link. I chose to work my *** off so I could go to Sydney University because it LOOKS like Hogwarts. I remember at age nine struggling over words in Harry Potter - like euphoric. Some of my friends don't know what euphoric means now. Harry Potter inspired my love for reading and detail. And it's not only the Harry Potter books that have shaped me. It's the entire fandom. I started reading fanfiction at age 10. I've watched the Harry Potter fandom grow and evolve since then. I've made great friends and had the time of my life. Look basically, Harry Potter defined my childhood. I have dressed up as every Harry Potter character imaginable - Hermione, Harry, Ron, Ginny, Fleur, Dumbledore, Trelawney, Hedwig, even bloody Voldemort. I've spent hours theorizing and rereading. Nothing is going to take that away from me and therefore I will always love it.

That is a very interesting question.

If Harry dies then yes, I would think it wouldn't hurt him anymore.

If Harry does not die, but defeats Voldemort, I'm not sure. One would think that the connection would be broken, thus making it stop hurting because Voldemort can't do anything else damaging (which is what causes the scar to hurt in the first place). But since the connection is so strange in the first place, I'm not sure.

Also an interesting point to ponder - JKR at one point said that the last word in book 7 (since she's had the last chapter done for a while) would be "scar." Hmmm...

Thanks for such an interesting question! Much better than "who's going to die???" like so many others ask!

No the pain will hurt forever because when Voldermort put the spell on him it was a spell that wher if he died then Harry would need to die at the same time

yes, when he dies in the last book because you can't feel pain when your dead!!!
Or unless Voldemort dies because there will be no more connection through it.
