ipod question?

i downloaded itunes and when i click on the icon on the desktop to get to itunes i get this message "itunes was unable to connect to the itunes music store" im not sure what to do...i emailed itunes help desk and well i have yet to hear from them. If you could help id be greatful and thanks :)

make sure if you have a firewall or program like that that you make sure to allow it so it can access the internet.
