I like film, I love politics but I also like journalisim,,,,,but then again I've always wanted to get into law enforcment. Ive done interships for all of these categories while in h.s and even currently. I really enjoyed all these career fields.... I have no Idea what I want anymore... I even though about joining the military.....sometimes it's really stressing and it really worries me how my life will be by age 26, is this normal or am I losing it.

lol no thats completely normal! i have friends who've graduated already and feel the same. myself..im a planner so even though im only 17 i know what i want to do in college and im already taking college courses for college credit. after college i'll probably know what to do..i just know what i want but not many ppl do. you'll be fine but dont wait too long like some of these ppl are suggesting!! you dont want to be 38 and supporting yourself or a family on a job being a janitor! think about it..

Listen to me, my dad died at 68 still not knowing what to do with his life, and he had a fabulous career behind him. No one knows. My advice to you would be to get your degree, and move on to anything you want to do. There is nothing wrong with floating, don't sacrifice yourself, find a career that you enjoy. Some just fall into things and others have to look, such is life, just don't give up. One day you will look up and not even recognize yourself, you will be successful AND on a path that you love, just keep searching and you will get there. If you look at the path of the ship across an ocean, it seems to be zigzagging in a number of directions, but it will reach it destination and fulfill its purpose.

I knew I loved God,art, music, poetry, theater, dance and animals.
I went to a state college and got a degree in art and art education. I studied music composition, violin, piano and voice ,dance, theater and writing.
I took masters classes in art history, sculpture and art therapy.
I investigated entering a few orders of nuns from 6th grade to senior year of H.S. and I studied for a degree in moral and spiritual theology in a major seminary in hopes of becoming a priest.
Mainly I teach art.
I love art.
I love my students and co-workers and the world of art. I have never given up my music,
nor acting, nor story telling, nor writing, nor spirituality.
I am certified in Therapeutic Touch, Reiki,Graphoanalysis, Welding, Sumi-e Brush Painting.
You don't have to give up anything that you love. You prioritize. You choose. There really is a time and a purpose for everything.
When God gives you gifts, use them!
Making a million dollars was never a "thing" for me.
Using my imagination seemed to be the foundation for using all my gifts and my faith that God would see me through all my hells has never let me down.
God really honors that parable of the birds of the air and lilies of the field.
Do what you love to do and trust God to see you through!

Love,
Lily

No, I didn't. how can anyone really know when the world is really just suddenly open to you? You're fine and normal to feel this way.

I ended up getting a stupid bachelor's degree, and went back and got a Masters in something useful, which actually ended paying for itself anyway with increases of salaries from my jobs.

but I really didn't find myself until about 33.

I thought I did too, but the career I was pursuing got boring after like about a week. the same goes for other careers I try to pursue... they just get boring after a week.
I don't know what to do with my life.

Film, politics, journalism and law enforcement have at least three qualities in common. Figure out what these commonalities are, and let that be your guide.

I WAS GOING TO BE A JANITOR OR WORK AS A GAME ATTENDENT BECAUSE IN MY MIND I'M WORTLESS. NOW I HUSTLE MONEY AND NO MATTER HOW REDICULOUS THE REQUEST I'LL GET THINGS PEOPLE WANT FOR SOME CASH. STILL I DIDN'T THINK OF MYSELF AS ANYTHING BECAUSE I REFUSE(D) TO BECOME SOMEONE. FRIENDS AND FAMILY WOULD ALWAYS SHOOT ME DOWN AND THEN WHEN I MENTALLY ADMITTED FAILURE TO MYSELF AND VERBALLY ADMITTED IT TO MY MOM I KNEW I WAS AN ACCIDENT AT BIRTH. YOU'RE STILL YOUNG SOMEWHAT. TAKE ADVANTAGE.
