They still have rights. They are being punished for their actions, or have been punished, but that doesn't mean that they're incompetent.

On the face of this question, yes the convicted criminals (not the one accused or framed) should not be allowed to participate in the elections, but then no body so far talks about preventing criminals to cast their votes.

A lot of criminals have not been caught yet ( some may even be running for the office of President ). They should have the right to vote for themselves, don't you think?

Well, geez, why not. We let criminals run for office and even vote them in. Get your head out of the sand, the white house is full of people taking kickbacks, people with money and power that no one dares go up against them. Ted Kennedy is a prime example of that.

Because of fear.Criminals are not BORN ,they became a criminal after participate in elections.We also ready to vote them due their,power,religion,caste,and local influence

The reason that a prisoner is in jail is because he has lost his rights to be in society. They should not get a vote, they lost that right. The only rotten reason is to get more votes to better the correction system, but forget that crap.

it is agood question .
it is because only when you are a major you are allowed to vote.it is according to the rules laid down in the government.no one can enforce it
