I don't know whether to see it or not....is the violence as bad as everyone says?

It's an amazing movie. Personally, I think it is the best movie of the year, but it is very gory so if you are the squeamish type you probably will have to not look during some scenes. Overall though, I went with someone who is very very squeamish and she had to turn away at least twice, but she still thought it was a really great movie. So I would recommend it; the movie is truly a masterpiece.

It IS quite violent! The director uses the violence to show why the little girl wants to escape to her fantasy realm. Her stepfather is NOT a nice person and is VERY violent toward those he sees as the "enemy"...It's a terrific story, nicely told.
It is a GREAT film, one of the best of the year without a doubt. I look forward to seeing it again. If film violence bothers you too much, I'd skip it, though.

Pan's Labrynth is an Outstanding movie, there's some violence but nothing really bad. watch it! you won't regret it.

There are some pretty graphic parts, but the movie is so great overall that I would recommended it to anyone regardless.

it's worth it. their is a part in the movie where the director emphesizes that you will see something, but you wont see it really. it's really good you will know when the part comes on because you will cringe, but it's really good.
