McAfee makes a free virus scanner called stinger. It can be downloaded from vil.nai.com.

The website may be part of some "free" software you installed such as free screensavers etc... (Ain't very much on the internet that is really free). I suggest installing either microsoft defender (anti-spyware) or something like adaware to see if it will remove the malicious software that may be causing the popups.

As a rule, never download any of the free trial virus removal applications that pop-ups offer. Download a free copy of either AVG 8 or Avira and run a full system scan. If there is anything nasty lurking on your machine, one of these should find it. Good luck.

Lot's of people download like crazy lots of pop-up blockers that really doesn't work. Believe me, this one really works, run the Windows Live One Care Safety Scan, it's available for free on Microsoft's web-site, and then download Windows Live One Care, you got to pay it but it really works, trust me.

if your antivirus hasnt said its a virus, its probably a spyware, get a good antispyware tool.
if its a virus you can download a good antivirus that catch it (if yours hasnt)
nod32 , Kaspersky, Zonelab... etc
you can get online scans too, if you cant manage to download any antivirus, just look for online scans, or antivirus scans, in google or yahoo.
