I have a female cousin whom was married for many years and has 4 kids and 9 grandchildren.
She met the love of her life several years ago.
When she moved back home from New Orleans we all found out that she is a Lesbian, I was surprised that the family took it as well as they did.

On the other hand, MY OWN HUSBAND, doesn't get it.
I was talking to my cousins girlfriend for about an hour and my hubby thought that she was coming on to me. UH DUH..
Its called conversation............

My sister-n-law even thought that this girl was coming on to her, just because she spoke to her.........

People can be NIT WITS!!!

When you say Gay or Lesbian most People automatically think of SEX. They just cant get past that.

It depends on how exposed these people are on homosexuality and bisexuality. Usually people who have never met LGBT's are naturally curious about it. They tend to ask you a lot of questions. But there are also those who act weird just because they don't know how to handle it. Its funny how some straight women "assume" that since your a lesbian or a bi, you would automatically hit on them. Just act naturally and let it be. In the end they would realise that they were wrong. You can only do so much in explaining yourself. People will either listen to you or just listen to themselves. Don't worry too much. The truth always comes out in the end.

It may just be ignorance about sexuality on her part. The same goes for some heterosexual males. When they find out a man is gay some automatically assume that we are going to go after them. It is usually the ones that we wouldn't also.
She may just not know what to do yet. Also she may be jealous that you don't like her. She may not be gay or bi, but some people are narcissitic enough to want to be loved by all.

It's the mind games they play with themselves -- the paranoia that whenever you smile or show any affectionate gestures such as wrap your arms around their shoulders or just even smile at them, and their knowing you are bi, some of them would have a paranoia etched inside their brain that you might be attracted to them. I think these sort of people are a little narrow-minded and don't understand that we are just like straights.

I knew a woman at my old job, who, when someone said something about my gay pride stickers, actually moved physically away from me. I looked at her and said, "Don't worry.. there is no way that I would ever be attracted to *YOU*!" It seems she got more pissed off at that than at the possibilty of me hitting on her in the first place.

People can be odd... Some straight women automactically assume you want them when you are out. It's ridiculous.. would they refuse to talk to a man that they weren't attracted to?

"Why do girls atomatically think I like them because im bi??"
Because you just might be and partially are. You have stated that you are bi.

Straight people might not ever want to have sex with somebody they are not attracted to, but they would rather have that then intercourse with the same sex.

So, naturally they become defensive.

Many people are uncomfortable with the idea of homosexuality and the way that they distance themselves is saying things like that. It's an excuse for them to get away from something that they are intolerant of without reason.

i hate people like that. im straight but i still have friends who are bi. so what they are still good people just cuz im not like them doesnt mean i cant be friends with them. even when they flirt with me i know they just do it to scare me but so what what i just laugh it off. we are all different and that's it. so if ur friends are changing with u cuz they found out ur bi then maybe they werent ur friends in the 1st place.

Honey I went through that to. They think just cuz your BI that your weird and all that crap. Just tell them to "BIte Your A$$" and "They can get over it." And that is that! All the crap I went through to keep my girl at the time and I lost her in the end anyways. That is why I turned straight again.
