i heard its possible to divorce parents. i am under the age of 18 and i believe my mom mentally abuses me. can you tell me what exactly falls into the category of mental abuse and if its possible to divorce my parents.

being mentally abused is like someone putting you down all the time,calling you names etc..theres a lot that goes into this category.
How about a counselor at school ?? try talking to someone there - it would be a start.
If you dont have anyone at school you can talk to,then contact your local dept of social services and ask to speak with someone.. You would want to talk with someone that oversees child abuse and neglect.
I dont know about the divorce issue,but someone at social services could answer that for you as well.
In the meentime - do you have a friends house you can stay at for awhile ???
If your mom is mentally abusing you, you need to be out of there. Talk with a friend and your friends parents - explain it to your friends parents and ask if you could stay with them for awhile.

you can't really divorce your parents. you can move out when you're 18 but no sooner and that's not "divorcing" your parents-it's just growing up and moving out. i think you should add more detail to the second part of your question. what does she say to you? you need to give us more detail on what kinds of things she says to you so that we know if it's mental abuse or not. if she says things that hurt you and she knows she's doing it then it's most likely abuse.

It is often very hard to prove mental abuse. How close to eighteen are you? Maybe emancipation is what you are seeking, not divorce. If you are still in HS a counselor there will be able to help you. Good luck. You'll make.

If you were able to divorce your parents right now....Where would you sleep? What would you eat? What would you wear?
Be patient, until you reach the age of emancipation, and able to take care of yourself on your own.

Apparently you don't know the definition of divorce. Just call the police and they will take care of it.
