I am a gay male. I am curious how so many believe they can choose what I am allowed to do with my life based on what they believe is right? They are not me. How can you vote against something or hate something that is not you? What if it were you? I might not like your life but how would you feel if I were able to vote against you or how you live your life? It is a civil rights violation and it hurts. Its racisim. How do you live with yourself and feel you are able to play God and say what I can and can't do or that I am less of a person when I am educated, pay taxes, and love my partner?

I am a conservative Christian. I usually prefer a more right wing social platform. At the core of my religious and political beliefs are the Bible first and the Constitution second. I honestly believe that a "gay marriage amendment" is a perversion of both. While the Bible does have verses that seem to condemn homosexuality, focusing on only a few versus can cloud the over all message. The Bible is a message of love and forgiveness. No person is blameless, whether they are gay or not. The focus was never meant to be on the sin, but on the sinner and the God who redeems him. You are gay and you sin. I am straight and I sin. In God's eyes we are brothers and he loves and forgives us both. As for the Constitution, this is a document that would not have been ratified had the Bill of Rights not been added. It's purpose is to secure the people's freedom from governments that may seek to control them. How can an amendment be made that states some groups are not entitled to those rights without destroying the validity of the entire document?

Settle down now, my son, and have a nice cup of tea. Here. Seems like you've had a hard day of people snapping Bibles at you. You're the one who has to decide how to live you're lofe. You can either go about your life and let their words roll off you like water off an otter's back or you can jump around and spaz out like you're doing. The latter just lets them know they;ve got to you. Just settle down now and drink your tea.
It is your civil rights to love your partner, to enjoy your life. Do it. They can't play God, except on here where they're faceless behind a screen. They'd not have the courage to do it to your face on the street.
Easy does it, my son. You're bigger than they are. Blessings.

I completely agree with you. I think that it is absurd that people around the country and world are so judgmental about other people, not just homosexuals. Why are they better and thus able to judge?
I am a Christian and believe in God but I also believe that God would not have made you like you were if he did not want you that way. He made you in His image, so who you are CANNOT be wrong.
Since who you are is not wrong, you should not be discriminated against.

...bad day, huh? Basically, they believe that they are preaching 'gods' word, so it's okay. Don't bother trying to reason with them, its pointless. Its impossible for them to hear you with their heads shoved so far up their ***. True fact.
In the end, all you really can do is just ignore them, and wait for them to catch up with the rest of the world. Or buy a gun. Either or.

I'm heterosexual and I agree with you. I voted for gay marriage and I feel that you should have the same rights as me. Take care.

Nobody should have the right to tell anyone how to live their life, or who they can or cannot show love towards.
