If I put a grow light light bulb into a reg light fixture will it have the same effect as if I put it into a overpriced reg grow light?

The bulb itself will have the same effect no matter what kind of fixture it's in. Any grow light's effectiveness is dependent on the light emitted from the bulb, not the fixture in which it is placed.

There are several different choices for grow lights, each better suited to certain tasks. Metal Halide lamps produce an abundance of light in the blue spectrum, this serves to produce vegetative growth and is ideal for leafy plants like tropicals.

High Pressure Sodium bulbs on the other hand produce more light in the red spectrun which serves to promote flowering.

For general home use the most commonly used are fluorescent tubes. These are not as bright as their more expensive counterparts but are cheaper to buy and run, and they stay a lot cooler. Also, there are Full Spectrum fluorescent lights available. I recommend these as they emit light in both the red and blue spectrums, this more closely emulates natural sunlight and benefits both leafy plants and flowering plants. I use these for my orchids when I bring them in for the winter and have had very good results.

It will be exactly the same. Grow light lightbulbs are just made to simulate sunlight. Plants don't know if you have it in a regulare light fixture or an actual grow light fixture. It will do exactly the same thing.

I examine once someplace. regardless of the reality that i do not bear in ideas the position. That mild pulsed at 10 cycles per 2d will quite strengthen plants at a 0.33 swifter than purely generic 12 hour day mild/evening cycles. It relies upon what you're growing as to what form of sunshine to apply regardless of the indisputable fact that the UV in florescent mild is the better useful.

the best plant lights are florescent.. you can get florescent that fit into a regular (incandescent) light fixture or there are many florescent fixtures available at your local hardware store... i grow many different types of plants under common florescent shop lights... aquarium plants, cacti, and other houseplants... the bulbs i use: one grow light and one clear, white light

I don't see what the difference would be. I used one in my hanging lamp for my plants last winter. I didn't have any problems.
