If you are referring to a class that you're taking at the college, it all depends on your GPA. If the low grade doesn't drop your GPA below the college's minimum, then it doesn't affect you other than to lower your GPA. Even if the low grade DOES drop your GPA below the college's minimum, most colleges and universities will put you on probation until you bring your GPA back up to the minimum, with the condition that you make at least a certain GPA during each semester. Everybody makes a bad grade now and again - especially new freshmen - and they're not going to toss you out on your ear just because you made a mistake.

If you're referring to making a bad grade in high school after acceptance but prior to entering college, then I don't think it matters; if they've accepted you, it's pretty much a done deal. They're unlikely to go back and review everybody's transcript before they start school when they've already done it during the acceptance process. Acceptance is based on more than just your high school average; it's also based on things like your SAT or ACT scores, participation in other activities, and similar things.

It depends on which course the D or F was in. If it was in a course required for admission to the school, they ae able to revoke your admission. But, if the clas did not keep you from getting your high schoo diploma, they probably will not revoke your acceptance.

colleges have already got your unweighted cumulative GPA. once huge-spread that is on the contingency of your senior grades. So in case your GPA drops first or 2d semester senior year or in case you get a D or F in a center difficulty classification. they could revoke your attractiveness or ask for a letter of clarification.

Depending on the college, you usually get placed as a provisional or probational student, then if it occurs in the next semester, you are dropped. If it is grad school, you are probably not going to be re-admitted.
