So as I was typing a key flew off the keyboard. Normally I can pop them back in, but I have a laptop now and the keyboard is different. It seems like theres two white springs that press down. What I said probably doesn't make sense. I took a picture, maybe it will help

Any help at all would be tremendously appreciated!

Your picture is a bit blurry, but I get the gist. I've replaced them before, but I'm not sure of your exact configuration.

Here's the best thing I can tell you based on other laptop key designs... If you hold the key up so that you can see the letter, and it's oriented the same way it would be if it were attached, the key attaching mechanism usually looks like the crossed legs of an ironing board. On the keyboard where the key is missing, you should have a couple of little metal channels that match the orientation of the "ironing board legs". What you need to do is keep the criss cross open using a small laptop or jeweler's screwdriver (or some other implement small enough for the task) and then attach one side of the key to that channel on the keyboard. Then you have to repeat the process for the other side. You may have to gently press the leg together to get it into the grooves. The tiny tabs should fit into the tiny channels on each side and you'll be back in business. If you've broken a piece of the plastic off on either side of the criss cross, you will likely have to get a new key as another answerer suggested.

It's a very annoying repair, good luck to you!

Laptop keyboards tend to be destroyed once the key has popped off.. I am an IT Director who used to work at a college where I supported over 2000 laptops. I saw this happen all the time....

HOWEVER, THERE IS HOPE!!! most of the time the keyboard is a free replacement from the manufacturer (they dont tell you this and wont). and usually it's not a FRU (field replaceable unit) that they expect back.. I know IBM does this for a fact... Call them tell them you took it to an IT Store because a few of the keys had stopped working. Or perhaps that a key fell off ... but I'd recommend the former... tell them the store said you need a new keyboard and you would like one shipped.. they'll ship you the part and then you can repalce it... it's pretty easy..

Haha yeahhh, and its not in basic terms laptops, i've got self assurance a key lasts for a hundred,000 clicks (makes use of) its some delusion/actuality i heard some years in the past, and nicely particular adequate not too previously my J popped off my keyboard, i attempted putting the piece lower back on and it did not stay, so now i only push on the little rubber disk under the main and as you will discover my J's artwork only superb lol. This pc is rather previous so im not likely to place attempt in fixing it, sick only use it till i'm getting a sparkling one. If yours is new you are able to the two do what i'm doing and not restoration it or take it in to a keep that works with desktops and see in the event that they are able to repair it and for how lots.

Same thing happend to me with the backspace key.
Well i think one of the white things that slip on broke in mine and it may be the same for you if so, you might need to order a new key from your laptop brand, like mine is Dell so I'd ring up Dell and ask, but I'm too lazy and it's quite easy to press the little bobbly bit lol!
Anyways, I also tried superglue but because the clip was broken that didn't work at all it was very wonky and didn't press down right.
So I'd say try ringing up and ordering a new one.

Best of luck!

Have you tried popping it back on? I think my laptop keys are similar to yours, though I haven't had a key come off in a while. Mine usually just popped right back on though. I would work at it when the laptop is off though.

Yes, Crazy Glue will be a big part of it. For more nitty-gritty details on how to fix keys on laptops, check out this site: http://www.iraqigeek.com/?p=45

hate to say it but super glue may be the only fix. I've heard it works pretty good.
