an IQ test before letting them post questions or answers on here?

I'm thinking maybe it would do away with the childish name calling and nonsense that is running rampant. What do you think?

Those of whom you are referring are the very reason Yahoo news closed its comments on the news of the day. Those people abuse the board and sometime make it difficult to impossible to carry on an intelligent conversation or to find answers to serious questions. Funny how the bad apples ruin the whole barrel for everyone.

We don't need an I.Q. test as much as an E.Q. (Emotional Quotient) test. Even though the I.Q. test is a good idea also. Too many people around here get too emotional and let the emotion over rule their better judgment. I have been guilty of this too.
Then again I spend alot of time in the politics and religion section. That's just asking for trouble. It can be said with some justification that if I had a high I.Q. or E.Q. I wouldn't be there.

I agree. there is a civilized way to dissagree with people. A high IQ usually brings that out. But lets be honest... some of the rants, name calling, and silly accusations are quite entertaining. jason

That (or "EQ" tests, for emotional maturity) might make this a calmer board, but it would lower the numbers of participants Y!A can claim. So I guess we just have to keep practicing our ability to weed out the idiots as we read. And who knows... maybe the more childish participants will eventually learn something from the calmer heads? (Yeah, I'm an optimist)

No, because what fun would it be to just hear from people who think they know everything? If people want to call each other names, so what? If you have such a problem with people using their freedom of speech why not go to another website where you can communicate with people as "highly" intelligent as yourself.

No because sometimes the so-called smart people are often the ones with the least common sense.

No, they should just ban the IP addresses of repeat offenders. There are people posting here who have created many new IDs every time their old one is suspended. Why doesn't Yahoo just ban their IP address and get rid of them once and for all?

Al Gore has a high IQ, yet listen to him rant: "He lied to the American people! He betrayed this country! Screech, Screech, Shriek, Shriek!"

Hillary has a high IQ, and listen to her rant: "I'm sick and tired of people questioning the patriotism of blah, blah, blah, blah."

It doesn't take a low IQ to produce name-calling and nonsense.

who would get to stay? Yahoo doesn't care how intelligent people are. They care about selling advertising. Stupidity sells.
